| Since changing hands in 2006 this pub is hardly reconizable from its previous incarnation. The new owners have spent large amounts of money to make it a clean, smart and friendly pub, the quality of the beer has also improved greatly. | Upon entering The Golden Cross you are usually greeted by an angry atmosphere put forward by an aggressive landlord who seems to have no interest in providing good/clean service and indeed 'looking after' his local clientile.You can look forward to stale lager/beer,awful smells rising from the cellar and even dogs running through the bar into the kitchen where they are preparing a poor excuse for food.Saturday Nights bring the arrival of some of the worst so called entertainment and is usually overun by thugs and Gypsies.So in summary if you want bad food,stale beer and the chance of a good old fight at the end of the night then the Golden Cross is the pub for you.
