| Do any of you wannabe critics actually attain the facts before you begin to write anything , firstly the ceasar salad at this pub `clearly` states the ingredients on the menu , so why order it and then complain after the event when you knew what was coming , its 2009 and ive seen many different ceasar salads , by no means does this detract from the pub or its menu , i see it as giving an interesting twist on an original idea , its people like you who will complain about anything you can find and then catastrophise your whole day , very common. Why people sit on their soap box here reather than ask for the owner there and then to discuss the issues are beyond me , sat behind a computer is easy. And these same people wonder why pubs are a dying breed , constructive critisism at the time to improve relations is the order of the day , not whining and moaning to satisfy ones own ego , maybe then pubs would be improving. The Silver Plough is a busy pub , and every place in the idustry can produce a bad dish from time to time , i however have never been disapointed here and feel very welcome , the owners are attentive and very passionate about their pub and customers , a physical approach is much more respected than an armchair critic.[Report for Removal] | chris salisbury wiltshire |

| I have to disagree with the review which slammed absolutely everything about this pub. When I visited this pub, I found that the customer service was very good, with friendsly and helpful staff. There was a good selection of ales and the food was very tasty. I cannot understand how a bill for four people could have come to over £130, as four starters and four main courses at the stated prices would not have some to over £84. Just how many drinks were bought?? I assume you didn't order puddings, as you slated the other courses as much at you did. | Poor! The service was good, but the food was nothing special at all! Two fingers of deep fried brie for £6.95, a few ver small and poor quality scallops for £6.50, spinach & ricotta tortellini that tasted no better than the 3 minute stuff you can buy from any supermarket and cook yourself, and a reasonable lamb shank on mash that tasted like smash! A far cry from the quality of a few years ago that earned acclaim in good pub guides. 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 drinks for a shade over £40 ... not worth a penny over £20![Report for Removal] | Roop Salisbury Wiltshire |

| Well I came herec with my In laws, the food was awful. first we had a plate of sal;a and a few over cooked scallops and then as well as dried out camermbert and then some very over cooked mushroom, all truley disgusting considering the london proces they charge. We then had the stuffed chicken for £14.00 which was dried out and burnt and awful, the calfs liver we ordered was dry and the mash lumpy. My partner order a chicken ceasar salad that came with can you beleive ,peppers, tomatoes,cucumber and onion...I'm sorry but did somebody chane the recipe for the salad I thought it was just cos lettuce, dressing ,anchovies and parmesan... I have to say we left pretty quickly after that. A bill of £130.00 for 4 people in a pub is far more than I would consider reasonable for a pub out of London for a whole lot of all I can describle as Shit.
