| This Pub used to be very good until the chef left in late November 2010, and unfortunately, It has gone down hill since. The food used to be excellent but not any more. A real shame.[Report for Removal] | Shane Aton clark Salisbury Wiltshire |

| A FRIENDLY PUB WITH A COUNTRY FEEL AND AN EXCELLENT MENU, YOU CAN'T GET MUCH MORE LOCAL THAN DEER SHOT BY A REGULAR. WE ARRIVED TIRED AND HUNGRY AND TOO EARLY FOR FOOD, THE LANDLORD THEN GOT THE CHEF TO START EARLIER SO WE DIDN'T FADE AWAY. THE LAMB WAS MELTING IN THE MOUTH WITH A DELICIOUS RED WINE AND REDCURRANT SAUCE THAT I HAVE TRIED TO REPLICATE IN MY OWN KITCHEN MANY TIMES SINCE. DESSERT WAS HEAVEN ON A PLATE AND THE COFFEE WAS "DAMNED GOOD". WE INTEND TO TRAVEL BACK SO WE CAN STAY OVERNIGHT AND TRY THE IMPRESSIVE BREAKFAST MENU. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, GOOD FOOD FROM AN EXTENSIVE MENU AND SPECIALS BOARD THIS PLACE IS WORTH TRYING.
