| The food was dull, tasteless, and pricey. I had a piece of smoked trout that tasted as if it had arrived in a blister pack from a cash and carry, served with a portion of beetroot, because, bizarrely, you are only allowed one salad item. My partner had moussaka that was tasteless and mass-produced. We only really wanted a snack but on Sundays, you have to have one of their big overcooked taste-free meals. The coffee came out of a machine and it was weak and chemically sweet, despite neither of us having added, or wanted, sweetener. Even the drinks are pricey. | What an unpleasant experience. The landlord was less than welcoming (he was sat at the carpark entrance eagerly evicting walkers) even though the web site suggests it is an ideal spot to walk from! You are not welcome to leave your car in the carpark whilst enjoying the local countryside, even if you plan to return for a meal. Needless to say we left and discovered The Boot on the other side of Stockbridge which is a gem, and where they don't charge you 90p per spoonful (not heaped) for salad.[Report for Removal] | Loops Melksham Wilts |

| I have visited The Mayfly on several occassions over the last 3 years. It is undoubtedly best visited in the Summer when you can sit outside, although it is far more crowded. However, the food has always been well cooked and presented and the cellar appears to be well managed. The only area of some disappointment is the increasing number of menu items (predominately starters and sweets) that appear to be bought rather than cooked prepared on the premises.[Report for Removal] | Geoff Carter Upper Strensham Worcestershire |

| Visiting this Sunday with my Elderly father who's only treat is an outing on Sunday as we only wanted a snack we choose the Cheese Platter not realizing you only receive Childrens Portions. When I asked if this was all the cheese we were going to get(cheese measuring an inch) I was told we actually had salad and a bread roll as well.
