| We visit this pub quite regularly on a Sunday whilst the roast is in the oven, and it seems many other locals do the same because its usually packed! This is a family-run pub tucked away in a back-street. I guess it was a busier road before the Bitterne by-pass! A little gem if you ever stumble across it. The landlord and lady are always very welcoming, to new-comers as well as the regulars. The public bar can become a bit smoky when busy. The other half of the pub has flag-stoned flooring and a real open fire. There is always a good selection of real ales available. I've not tried the food, but from the board it looks like traditional home-cooked pub grub. There is also a small patioed beer garden and small car park. Kids are welcome up until 8pm (i think) and are treated well.[Report for Removal] | Gweev Southampton Hampshire |
