| The Wiremill in Newchapel is a lovely pub with lots of character and beautiful views as it is situated right on it's own lake. I went there with some friends for a late lunch and beacuse they do a full menu all day, we were able to relax and take our time there. I had the Fish and Chips which I believe it is becoming quite well-known for and a couple of my friends shared a few mixed tapas plates. There are also some quirky extras which we really thought added to the atmosphere. They have a small room caled a "snug" with a big TV and comfy chairs, brilliant to chill out in. Also all over the bar and on shelves behind, are jars full of different snacks, muffins, cookies, doughnuts and other little yummies!!!! | I had Sunday lunch here this week and have to say it's a new gem to add to my favourite places. We only live a few miles away from the pub, but had only heard bad things about it over the years. Speaking to some friends before Christmas we found out it had been bought by 4 guys who have turned it around. Since then all we heard was good things so decided to take the in-laws there whilst they visited. The staff were great, service relaxed and the food was, well amazing! Great choice of locally sourced food which my wife loved the idea of. We have a young child (4) and often difficult to take her out, but it was easy here. Colin, one of the owners found us a great table even though they were extremely busy, we'll book in advance next time. If you’ve not been – you should. We will be going back all the time now. | I have been going to this pub on and off over the last six to seven years and have always loved the place and have had some great and memorable times here. The Wiremill has recently been taken over and the Guys seem great, they are working really hard to make The Wiremill somewhere a bit special. We have really enjoyed our visits and the food the first couple of times was amazing, but I must say that we went in last week when it was busy and the food was cold, service was extremely slow and the food was disappointing, as a fan this was such a shame. Lets hope it was a one off and it won't put me off to much as the atmosphere is fun & lively and in the summer it buzzes.
