| Under new managership, the Old White Horse has a friendly ambience and concentrates on unpretentious but quality English home cooking. Its new Mix and Mash menu, specialising in quality sausages, a variety of mashes and four types of gravy (including Brakspears), is the centrepiece but there are plenty of other options for those who enjoy good honest pub fare. The handcut chips are a treat, but meant we had no room to sample the tradtional desserts such as blackberry and apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding.
