| Well what a change this pub is well worth a visit now great staff and good selection of beer. Live music some Fridays makes this pub a good venue to enjoy a drink and socialise. Grate garden area[Report for Removal] | Les Reading Berks |

| I was visiting some friends in Baughurst Hampshire on Sunday 7th March 2010. We visited the local pub The Baggers Wood. We were seated on the left on entering the Lounge Bar. My companion on entering approached the bar for service to find the bar untended. The comments from over in the other bar were hes out side having a smoke. Eventually he appeared and we were served, in between him playing with his phone. I later over heard a conversation between some guys standing at the bar and the young man serving. I was astounded to hear the customers coment that one of the drinks were under measure, and I could plainly see that was the case, the server started to argue with the customers who were obviously regular patrons, eventually the glass was toped up with reluctance. Later one of the group was served after having to shout loudly for the bar person who was missing again, a round was served and I witnessed the customer offer a card for payment to be greeted with a mocking coment that the machine was not working, so what was the customer to do the drinks were poured and served and would be taken back and the weren’t by law allowed to give credit surely a little customer service was called for and the matter resolved with out your customer having to beg a lone from his aquatints. Please remember hundred of pus have closed you need the customer and instead of employing rude arrogant and darn right rude bar staff, smile and welcome would go a long way. | What can I say. First, I'm American. And please, I'm not a Yank. I'm from the South. Grin. Secondly, I've hit watering holes across the globe and when I think of the best time, the best people (on both sides of the bar) my mind automatically defaults to The Badger's Wood. And while some might think I'm prejudiced because one of my ancestors once owned it and my Grandfather's cricket photo graced a wall, I did not find this info out until I had already loved it for weeks. A great pub at a nexus. Go there. And then drink a Jose Guervo Gold tequila shooter for me. Drink a couple.
