| I believe this pub was demolished decades ago, and Johnson's Dry Cleaners is there now. But if anyone has any recollections or pictures of The Rising Sun, Newbury, please contact me. I am particularly interested in a former landlord of the pub, Alfred Charles Callow (known as "Dodge") for my family history research. Dodge was also landlord of the Falkland Arms in Newbury, in the 1930s; he died in 1954. I see the pub is still being advertised as a going concern on several other websites too!
