| I love sitting in their garden on a summers day, very relaxing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. sometimes there is a wait at the bar when busy, but well worth waiting for! food is tasty, and fish & chips is huge!!![Report for Removal] | Charlie Stephens Reading Berkshire |

| I enjoy going to this pub in the evenings, can get very busy on Fri/Sat nights and especially in summer as it's by the river and canal. | after being at newbury races on sat 19 july 2008 we got a taxi into the town centre.we went into the pub for a meal,the menu seemed to be ok.we ordered 4 meals 2 fish & chips & 2 steak & ale pie.THE CHIPS &PEAS &POTATOES were COLD.The fish had lots of bones.We returned 1 of the pie meals which they just microwaved and gave it back,which then made it dry & tasteless.they were also expensive aswell.So we wont be going back [Report for Removal] | linda dartford kent |

| Everytime i have tried to eat here its gone wrong..my partner had a piece of glass in his lettuce.. My friends roast meat was as tough as old boot leather.. my jacket spud wouldnt keep a mouse going, was dry, boring and tasteless.I demended free pints as compensation. And the prices are not cheap either. Staff looked really cheesed off. Shame as its not a bad pub otherwise..but shant be eating there again.[Report for Removal] | JANE THATCHAM BERKSHIRE |

| The location is gorgeous, the beer is well kept, however the pub seems cursed with bad management and staff. This is one of the worst run pubs I've ever been in. The pub has plenty of staff... but they just don't know how to prioritise. I mainly freqent the pub during lunchtimes, however when it is reasonably busy I have often seen 1/2 dozen people waiting with only 1 staff member actually serving. There is ALWAYS at least 2 other staff members behind the bar NOT serving and instead either waiting for the food hatch, waiting to server the food from the food hatch operator or (most annoyingly) loading the dishwasher whilst there are plenty of clean and empty tables and plenty of free glasses. I don't eat there anymore as the food is over priced and not particually good (i.e. straight out of microwave/fryer) [Report for Removal] | Jon Reading Berkshire |
