A great pub, where you will be looked after with warmth and style. The pub has several rooms and a large beer garden, but by far the cosiest is the main bar with its thick walls and warm fireplace. A good selection of drinks is on offer, although I'm not an ale drinker, so I'm not able to help out those who take their beer seriously in this review. There are cards, games and books a-plenty for those who want to linger and a widescreen tv, which is on when there's something worth watching and off when there isn't. Music in the bar is quiet enough to allow friendly conversations to flourish and the landlords are very hospitable. The pub adapts across the day to serve the needs of its local community and visitors, serving excellent coffees from 9-12, lunches and evening meals. There is a Fish & Chips night once a week and Sunday Lunches. I grew up in the village and, while back visiting over the Christmas period, I was delighted with the atmosphere the new landlords have created and would really like to encourage all those who live in or near Appleton to use the pub regularly. You're lucky to have it![Report for Removal] Fiona Smith
