| The Gamekeeper's reputation locally has been reported as having gone down over recent months. Nonetheless, my organisation (50 people) held its Christmas 2006 dinner there recently(menus prebooked). Service was extraordinarily slow (over a hour's wait between the starter and the main courses starting to be served, the food was indifferent (several colleagues were not amused by the shoe leather-like qualities of the roast venison). The real ale on offer (Wolf, a very fine local brewery) was "off"; indeed the bar staff who tasted two of the returned pints commented that the beer tasted like vinegar.[Report for Removal] | Tom Banham Norfolk |
