| What a treat! We used to go to the Red Lion many years ago but had found it disappointing when we returned around 5 years ago. After recent recommendations we decided to try it again and went for a family meal (2 + 2) early on a Friday evening. The pub is obviously undergoing substantial renovations and is looking gorgeous. The menu was not too large and offered a lovely mix of meat & sea-food. I tried the black rock chicken and it was excellent. Everyone's dishes were superb, with very generous portions. The puddings were superb and, I believe, were all home-made on the premises. Can thoroughly recommend this pub and can't wait to return.[Report for Removal] | M.L. Grantham Lincs |

| I have visited the Red Lion this past week for the first time in years, what a lovely surprise to find the improved carvery, renovated toilets and landscaped garden patio. | This pub was recommended for Sunday lunch from someone who hasnt been for 3 months. Apparently it was exceptional in those days, it isnt now! From walking up to the bar and being ignored to leaving the place, the service was atrocious, the place was cold, the food was very very average and I have to say my kids suggestion of going to Pizza Hut should have been taken. Unfortunately the landlord leaves a comments book out, I didnt leave one but the last page or two alternated between brilliant and adverse comments. In my mind thats worse because obviously sometimes it must be good, I hit a bad day and am not prepared to make that journey again in case I hit another bad day, which I suspect I probably will under the new regime.[Report for Removal] | AHSH Grantham Lincs |
