| We ate at the Odd House on Saturday 11th March 2006. I ordered a mixed grill and my wife a 5oz rump steak with scampi. My wife's food arrived with the steak cold and cooked to well done not medium. Her new potatoes were cold on the outside of the plate yet warm in the middle of the plate and the mushrooms were cold and slimy. My mixed grill was similar in temperature and the lamb cutlet was burned black. We complained about my wifes meal to the staff who seemed totally uninterested in the situation. My wife was offered a fresh meal by a lady member of staff, which we accepted but a bar man returned with the same meal reheated which he called "refreshed". We pointed out that you cannot refresh a steak that was cold and over cooked, it just makes the food worse and we asked for the replacement meal we had been offered. The bar man (a youth of about 20) started to try to tell us to "shhhhhh". When we tried to explain, calmly, that all we wanted was a meal he stormed off with the plate of old cold food shouting that there was nothing he could do for us as we were being unreasonable. The meals had already been paid for and my wife was left without any food at all. What a great pub/restaurant and what a great way to treat customers.[Report for Removal] | Alun Kirton Grantham Lincs |
