| Nice range of real ales but pub totally spoiled by grumpy, impolite & overworked staff. Food not particularly good and often excessive service delays (even when not busy). Last time we went at lunchtime they ran out of half the menu and there were several angry customers. I would not like to arrive at this pub after a long days hike. If you don't drink up fast enough the staff will make their displeasure known very quickly and in no uncertain terms.[Report for Removal] | Ron Evans Helsby Cheshire |

| Wainwrights does indeed have a very good range of well-kept beers and the landlord Ben (surely not the Ben who gave it such a glowing first review!) is friendly and welcoming. Food is also very popular, and consequently the pub is very busy during peak holiday periods. This is probably amongst the best pubs in Lakeland and is set in a very picturesque location.[Report for Removal] | Mark Coventry Warwickshire |
