| The staff at this pub are clueless. Members of my family and I were recently staying in Elie. My dad had recently died and we were scatterring the ashes and having a general reunion as he was born there. They rather rudely refused to serve a large family party (15-18)of us to drinks both hot and alcoholic. This was a Sunday lunchtime in early October when the pub was far from busy and we could easily have been accomodated however because we weren't ordering food they couldn't serve hot drinks! Had we not been so appalled the drinks would almost certainly have led on to the ordering of food but we simply went to the pub up the road who were grateful for the order of £30 plus for the drinks and food on top of that for most of us. Perhaps in the depths of winter they won't be quite so snooty and turn away custom. My brother who was in the pub with his wife and son the evening before rated this pub as not very child friendly. Don't know the details but despite this pubs great location neither of us would reccommend a visit. [Report for Removal] | Paul Birmingham West Midlands |
