The welcome, the Atmosphere the Food Awful, Awful, Awful Our first mistake On Sunday we decided to celebrate my birthday with a meal out and we selected the Freston Boot Our second mistake As it was rather cool by the window in the dining area we asked if we could move to another part of the dining area. After going out and returning sometime later we got a grudgingly OK The third mistake My wife didn’t think she would be able to eat three courses So as tapes was on the menu we thought that we would share this between ourselves. When it arrived it was plonked in the centre of the table by the landlady and we were not provided with separate plates although we made it plain we would be sharing the dish. The actual tapas dish consisted of a bowl of salad with 4 small deep fried things and a dip, not what I expected from the menu and hence our disappointment. Now the definition of a tapas course in a normal restaurant is a selection of Light savory snacks or appetizers. I queried this with the landlady and was told that this was their dish and the meaning of tapas was small dish (actually in Spanish it means Covers or Lid) The forth mistake This was the main course. My wife had salmon which was so overcooked the tail end was hard and inedible, I had Beef which was so tough I was unable to cut it properly with the knife. The vegetables were hard and not very warm and the so called gravy with my beef was thick and tasted of nothing. We were so upset that I duly complained to the landlady I did not receive any apology or worthwhile excuse from her and was told that I had better leave. Which I assure you I did never to return [Report for Removal] King
