| My wife and I work shift work and rarely have days together so as a treat i phoned for a Reservation for saturday night only to be told we are fully booked.I phoned back later and booked for the next weekend 6/11/10 i was really looking forward to a geat night out with my wife we durly arrived at the allotted time only to be told sorry not booked then denied all knowledge of the phone call .i used to praise this pub .not any more i will not go there again and will not recommend this place to any one again [Report for Removal] | g bush long riston east riding of yorkshire |

| My husband and i decided to go to the travellers rest for a meal on a wednesday night,the time we entered the pub was approximatly 8.02pm,we were greeted with "have you booked" by what we pressumed was the landlady,she had a very bad attitude,we replyed "no sorry",she turned to the landlord and he said "sorry we finish serving at 8pm".As we left the room i over heard the landlady say"they think they can just come in and get a meal",surley in this current climate they cannot afford to treat customers in this way! We were prepared to spend at least £40,it makes me wonder how many more people she has turned away.I think this lady should attend customer service training as i have read another review and she has been rude to them too.We will never go there again and not recomend it to any of our many friends or relatives.It was a very dissapointing experience.[Report for Removal] | Mrs J Ollett Hull East Yorkshire |

| We were really looking forward to our local pub to re-open. Decided to have Sunday lunch there. What a disappointment - didn't even get the chance to taste the food. I walked in with my son, his girlfriend and my three year old grandson. Our greeting was "Are you having a meal?" Not what I expected but let it pass. We took our places at a table and waited for a menu. We were the only customers but had to go to the bar and ask for menus. After choosing our meals I returned to the bar to order and asked if they provided a children's menu or if not could we have a plate for my 3yr grandson. I was told " No, a full meal or nothing". Needless to say, we decided on nothing and went to the Bay Horse where they are 'children friendly' and had a delicious meal. Traveller's Rest Landlady, for goodness sake try smiling and being a bit more friendly or I can't see you staying in our village for very long.[Report for Removal] | Margaret A Hughes Hull East Yorkshire |
