| The Boot & Shoe used to be my local. That was over 24 yrs ago now, but I can't see that it can have depreciated much in that time? I now live in the U.S. but have fond memories of the Boot & Shoe. Then it was owned by Dave and Pauline Boothroyd. Is it still I wonder? One thing I did lament, although I can't say I blame them for doing it, was to knock the small rear parlour and adjacent room into one large area. Previously it had, had a very cosy olde worlde feel about it, but the enlargement certainly increased the seating capacity. The Boot & shoe was an excellent place to go to socialise and to enjoy a really good beer. I hope it still is. I am thinking of visiting the area next year with my new American bride.
