| Wednesday lunch at The Seahorse (3rd time). As before the standard was maintained. Ambiance,service excellent. Food absolutely superb - generous portions which give a good impression of generosity. (Just a thought - a top-up of coffee gratis is a wonderful customer-friendly idea. Cost negligible!) | just got back from a family meal at the seahorse and WOW!!! how is has changed, food amazing, service fantastic, and well worth a vist !!! | I took my wife here in August 2006 for a special birthday sunday lunch. Place is well decorated and furnished, lots of staff about in aprons. Unfortuntaley the food was absolutely terrible! We asked for the roast beef to be rare, the waiter looked troubled. Turned out that the beef had been well cooked a few days before, sliced into a cold meat steak and warmed under a griddle. It was inedible. I ordered a game pie which turned out to be a stew with raw dumplings in it, and I mean raw as in flour and water paste. We paid for our drinks and left. I asked to meet the chef and was told they don't have one. Just a bank of microwaves and a freezer. As a result we have told all our friends not to go so someone has wasted a huge investment here. Pity, it could be really fab but it is not privately owned so there is no one there who has any passion to make it a success.[Report for Removal] | Nigel Blake Send Surrey |
