| We visited the Railway Inn in August while touring the Costwalds and England and found the pub to be friendly and welcoming. The service was with a smile and with excellent food that was as good as home cooked. We look forward to a return visit! | As visitors to the area we were delighted with the welcome given by Paul and Sue. The Friday special of fish and chips couldn't be bettered, except perhaps by the desserts! | We visited this pub very recently looking for information on my ancestor, Harold Simons whose Father used to be the blacksmith in Ripple. We found the barman to be very friendly, also the customers in the bar, especially one man who told me a few helpful things. | We have eaten at The Railway Inn several times in the last few months and have found the food to be excellent quality and value for money. The welcome is warm and very friendly and as a family we have found the pub to be very accommodating - we have a young son and he loves the Railway Inn. Nothing is too much trouble. They have themed food evenings on a regular basis - if you like a traditional home cooked pie - The Railway Inn is the place to go. We are all looking forward to the Italian night which is coming soon! | The pub has changed hands since the majority of reviews entered below. Sue and Paul immediately make you feel welcome to the Railway and it is obvious that they strive to provide a really good service. Overall, this is exactly what a good quality, friendly village pub should be like - and we tried most in the area before settling on the Railway - and it is now our local (although we live a few miles away). Sue cooks all the food herself, home-made pies, local hand-carved ham, lasagne and a fish and (real!) chips special on Friday evenings; all of this matched with the weekly changing real ales (always 4) plus a really good quality house wine and all sensibly priced. You've really got it all! It has a nice atmosphere - often bustling, especially when the skittle alley is in use, and there's a real range of people - no snobbery, everyone is made to feel welcome. Well located for the M5/M50 junction if you're passing by, or for somewhere close to the Three Counties Showground as well as Tewkesbury and Upton. Sue and Paul have turned this pub around - there are themed evenings, charity nights and live music & BBQs. | An excellent country Pub that offers a great range of Real Ales. The food is fantastic with many themed evenings including Curry, Chinese and Greek nights.
