| We had a shocking experience in this pub. The bar staff have clearly all been trained by the land lady who is a most unpleasant character. My glass of red wine smelled of fish. When I asked politely if it could be exchanged I was met with a hostile response from a little madam of a barmaid. She then involved another bar maid and finally the land lady. They were all equally unpleasant and tried embarrassment techniques. They refused to give me a refund or a replacement on the grounds that just beacause I didn't like it, not their problem! | When visiting the Ship Aground Inn in Mortehoe in the summer we had an appalling experience with the landlady. Her menu looked great and myself and my friends all eagerly chose our supper. :-) We then noticed we had been overcharged, not by much just £7.80, but we thought we would mention it as she had charged us all for a jacket potato even though the board said 'all the above comes with a choice of jacket potato, salad or chips'. So we queried it POLITELY and boy did we get a bizarre reaction, not only was my friend told she couldn't read, the landlady made a complete scene in the pub, cancelled our food and chucked us out. NEVER go there, the woman is so rude! She obviously hasn't heard of customer service. The only pleasure I got from that evening was that a few people in the queue behind us walked out so she at least lost a bit of business that night as a result of her appalling behaviour![Report for Removal] | Becky Bristol Avon |
