me my husband and both our daughters aged 23+17 use this pub often for a lunch time menue, and have had pleasant meals there. But when both my daughters stoped off today to have some lunch, they were rudely spoken to, and refused to be served because my youngest who is 17 did not have here id on her, they were ther not there to drink achohol but just to eat as they were driving, I understand that the ember inns policy is no children under 14 unless with an adult, they were both upset with the ladys abruptness, both my daughters are of age to eat here together as they have done so before, they only got to ask if there card would be accepted for the meal that they wolud of like to have but did not get any further than you have to leave, we appricate the care you take for under age drinkers and my eldest daughter more so as she works for the police and has no problem being checked, it was the way that the lady spoke to them and they could not bother to come home and return back for lunch dissapoiting and upstetting is all I have to say.[Report for Removal] Mrs O,Sullivan

Trying to remain styled on the Ember Inn concept regrettably this pub has fallen from grace. Looking physically tired and with disinterested bar staff the pub reminds you of a sterile hotel reception bar and nothing more. This is shame as the potential is here for so much more. A good selection of lagers (a number of premium strength ones from the eastern parts of Europe when we were there). The service is poor though and the staff look like they would rather be elsewhere. This is a bar that sets itself out as a gastropub where you take the relatives for traditional pubgrub. The trouble is there are other better competing venues that offer this already in Enfield. The pub itself is situated on the Ridgeway - an affluent part of Enfield - however this pub does not attract that clientele although it should do so. Worth going into if meeting people from the nearby hotel but pointless otherwise. Sorry to sound so negative but it suffers from the worst parts of British service.[Report for Removal] matthew

I went here on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff looked as though they simply didn't want to be there. They gathered at one end of the bar gossiping oblivious to the patiently awaiting customers. One chap, who looked like the duty manager, appeared incredibly put out at having his conversion interrupted muttering something under his breath as he approached. Once the bar was clear of customers, the staff then gathered around one of the tables to continue their conversation, play with their mobile phones, & make phone calls.[Report for Removal] LJay
