| Enjoyed this pub a great deal when we visited. Big beer garden with multiple tables to sit outside. Properly constructed large outside smokers area together with large telly so you dont miss the action re sport when you go for a smoke. Inside - two separate lounge areas served via a central bar area. The smaller lounge has a pool table and music vending machine (excellent choice). The larger bar has the main toilet areas and a small raised stage area for local music at most weekends. Limited bitter selection but has the proverbial Guinness and (very) unusually Red Stripe lager on tap! Underwent a refurb in the last year or so (so we understand) that has considerably improved the interior decor and furnishings. A pub with a definite irish feel to it (but not one that dominates) with irish sports shown alongside the usual football and other sport screens and televisions. Good service and nice atmosphere due to the irish/english mix. Worth combining this pub with the Jolly Butchers over the road if coming for a visit.A family friendly pub as well witnessed by the number of children in the beer garden. The pub wont please the 'live for today' mindset as it is removed from the town centre but it will please you if you want a beer or two in comfortable surroundings with a nice atmosphere. If you feel peckish then there is a sea food stall adjacent to the pub as well. Didnt try it - sorry![Report for Removal] | matthew enfield middlesex |
