This pub has a pleasant and cosy atmosphere. It is on two levels: street level with bar, and then upstairs (diners mainly). Carpeting helps absorb noise, which allows sensible conversation levels. It gets quite busy, but even so we were a little taken aback when directed to a table to enjoy our drinks, rather than being allowed to find our own seats. We were not the only ones to experience this. In fact, I believe we saw one couple being requested to move from the table they had selected! That said, though maybe a little bossy, the ladies who were staffing the pub when we visited were friendly enough. On hand pump were Caledonian 80/-, Deuchars IPA, and McKewan 70/-.
