| We found this pub to be very nice - great food, excellent steaks and lovely clean rooms. Would not hesitate in recommending it to friends - the staff and locals are warm and friendly - Dogs and childern are more than welcome as long as they are kept under control! The staff couldn't be more helpful and accomodating with my mother who is 84 yrs old and not easily pleased!! She would like to go back and stay next year she loved it so much. So when you read all these comments - like the saying never judge a book by its cover - never take everything as true when reading these comments!! | *** People should not read these comments but make there own minds up *** We have visited this pub on many ocassions over the past years. The rooms are clean and lovely, the food is excellent, the steaks are to die for!!! And a warm welcome from the landlady and staff and DOGS and CHILDREN are welcome if they are kept under control!!!! Reading the past comments if i was to go out for a meal and listen to screaming kids - I wouldn't like it at all = we come out to get away from the kids!!! | Service by landlady absolutely awful! Children and dogs do not appear to be welcome, Waited over an hour for food and was then told our order had not been put through because of a problem with the credit card system. When we complained we were told to 'contact streamline'! I asked for 2 void tickets owing to the problem with the card system, the landlady took them out of the bin and threw them at me! | Booked a table for 9. Arrived on a busy evening and the staff were superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The food is excellent. Very good portion sizes and sensibly priced. If you are hungry or just enjoy a good meal in a friendly comfortable atmosphere this pub is a must. The steaks are delicious and generous. | Our children arranged our Golden Wedding party at The Bull Inn, Swyre and what an excellent choice it was. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was very good as were the facilities and a big thankyou to all involved. | I recentely held my parents Golden Wedding party at the Bull, Sue and her staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating in spite of us changing details right up to the last moment. We had 60+ people ( including children!) there and they all commented on how lovely everything was. The room was set out beautifully and the food excellent and all at a very reasonable rate. | This is not a family friendly or dog Friendly pub. If you are looking for somewhere with a great atmosphere, a warm welcome and excellent customer service I suggest you stay well clear of this place. The owner did everything in her power to make myself and my travelling companions uncomfortable. Its quite clear if you have children and a dog, despite them being really well behaved, you shouldnt really take the liberty to book a room there! Avoid at all costs. | Recently went there 2 couples and 3 children, staff were very friendly. Food was very good and generous portions. Having read previous reviews i would suggest to others make your own mind up. | THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY PUB!! We picked the Bull for a drink with friends one evening especially because they see themselves as family friendly (high chairs, signs on the door saying children welcome, etc) and we all had our 3 month old babies with us. There are no baby changing facilities, the staff were hostile towards us and eventually asked us to leave. I will admit that our babies were a little miserable but we all did our best to keep them quiet. We will not be returning to this pub!![Report for Removal] | Terry Dorchester Dorset |

| We were shocked when we arrived to eat at the Bull, seeing that we had two children with us the barmaid said 'if you have children you will have to eat out in the back room, not in the main bar as people complain about the noise and my boss tells me off!' So as it was getting late we sat in this chilly, half decorated back room, we didn't have laid tables or table cloths like those in the main bar, dogs would have been treated better!!. At the end of the meal, although I had heard the barmaid scream our order to the kitchen staff, our desert was forgotten. After 1/2 hour I asked the landlord what was happening - his curt reply was 'they are doing it now, they didnt get the order, do you want it or not, come on its make your mind up time.'
