| Where do I start... Well the beers would be the obvious place, Tim Taylor's Landlord was the first real ale to be put on by Jane and Simon Hicks, when they took over the public house that nestles on the riverside in Rawcliffe ( a pretty and traditional style 'Village Green' village, with as many characters as Ambridge in the Archers!!)Their warm welcome and friendly manner, instantly puts the casual caller, newcomer and regular patron, at ease and as a woman , who often goes in alone, secure and safe! There are now several more pumps addded of rapidly changing and well chosen ales, with ales to suit every preference. As Jane and Simon are Real ale lovers themselves, and make a point of getting to know their customers, they will always offer a small taster of ale to try if required first, before a decision is to be made!! Their Beer festival, often timed to coincide with the village festival, is always a great success, with around 15 ales on, quite often music and food provided by regulars! quiz night is usually thursdays, and folk musicians often appear every other wednesday. a song was recently written and performed in the Jemmy, the characters that frequent this establishment provided the inspiration!(as do the various dogs that go in too as they are welcome too!)
