My wife & I have just spent an enjoyable Christmas in a cottage at Bellerby spoilt only by the management of the Bolton Arms at Leyburn. We arrived at 1.50pm on Friday 28 December 2007 for lunch (the board outside stated food served 12 - 2. We entered and purchased some drinks and asked for some sandwiches only to be told that we were too late for food. Apparently the chef decides when to stop providing food irrespective if this is before the published time. To make matters worse a plate of sandwiches was then delivered to the barmaid who proceeded to sit at the bar eating them in front of us. Also having finished our drinks we were then too late to purchase food at other establishments. We feel that the unfriendly management of the Bolton Arms have let down the people of Yorkshire.[Report for Removal] David John Breeze

I visit the Bolton Arms frequently and am always pleased. The food is excellent value for money. This is not Michelin star territory, but the food is hot, well prepared and the portions are generous. The prices are extremely reasonable. The Sunday carvery is absolutely outstanding. By far, the best food they do and extremely good value. Highly recommended.[Report for Removal] David
