| We went for a meal on a Friday night, it was pre-booked so I would have thought we'd be put in the restaurant. Instead we were put next to the fire in the bar area, where we could also see through into the back staff area. We ordered medallions of pork & haddock. The pork medallions were bland and caked in pepper sauce. The sauce was full of whole peppercorns even having a strong threshold for spices I could not eat whole peppercorns and resigned to politely spitting them out back onto the side of the plate. My partner had the haddock, the batter was soggy & stodgy & the fish itself very very boney. Every mouth full was full of bones, the fish was also very slimy! Having eaten a few mouthfuls of each meal we couldn’t eat anymore. We waited absolutely ages for our tables to be cleared and when it was cleared we weren’t even asked how it was...clearly because they could see that it had been appalling. We had read the review in the local D&S Times only the weekend before, we only wish we had now listened to it & we would have avoided the disappointment!! | We went here on an outing with a group of WRVSReired Asscn Members and had an excellent meal. The only fault was the time taken to serve our main course.
