| I have dined in this pub on many occassions and can genuinely say i have never had any issues with the food that has been served. It has always been very well cooked and presented and not to mention very tasty. The atmosphere of the pub is friendly and relaxed and very welcoming. By far the biggest asset is the staff who are always polite, efficient and really do go out of their way to make your time their is pleasant. Would definitely recommend the Sunday carvery to anyone who is passing their way.[Report for Removal] | C Newton Bishop Auckland County Durham |

| I think the bridge inn is the best pub in the country , they do brilliant carvery and sunday lunches. the food is really good. I love the pub it's self the playground is brilliant for the kids and the smoking area is great for people that are down in the dumps because of the ban, can finally smoke with a beer in a shelter.I would go here alot. sincerely rachelle Armitage. | I have had the pleasure of visiting this friendly pub on many occasions and enjoying a variety of their dishes. I have sampled meals and snacks from the menus, specials board and the carvery as well as configuring my own meals. The service has always been good in busy or quiet times with the staff being amiable, pleasant and helpful to my varying requests and questions. | I wished we'd perhaps been able to try the Carvery but alas we went for a meal in the "restaurant" on a night when the Carvery is not open. At this time of year so close to Christmas we should have known when there wasn't another soul in there, that was the time to run. Garlic mushrooms in white wine and cream sauce - presentation amateur at best, no sign of any fresh garlic and why would a "restaurant" serve luke warm cream laced with dried parsley? Pan Fried Breast of Gressingham Duck in Port and Redcurrant sauce - not even a hint of a seed, trace of the fruit skins or the slightest vapour of Port and as for the poor Duck I think it would have been safer described as Beaten to death with a frying pan, its colour strongly ressembling bruised flesh! As for my grilled 10oz Gammon Steak with eggs, the scales must have been broken as it was closer to 6oz, 3mm at the thickest parts, luke warm, discoloured and accompanied by 2 semi-raw eggs presented in a pool of oil which is still making me feel ill. Three napkins later and the plate was still swimming. The only good product from this meal was the lovely crisp, brown and well drained chips, which we could have bought from a fish & chip shop and not what we expected from a "restaurant". All in all it was the most expensive eggs, bacon and chips I've ever had the misfortune to sample as was the bruised duck breast in Gravy Granule looking sauce. My advise; when a place is empty and the disposable table cloths are dirty and have clearly not been disposed of - leg it as fast as you can, straight out the door, don't look back and save yourself an upset stomach and an extremely light wallet![Report for Removal] | Bev Spence Heighington Durham |
