| My husband daughter and I ate at The Dog Inn this lunchtime and thought it was a real find. We were in Pentrich to vsit the church and were delighted with our visit. The food was excellent, service was prompt and very friendly and the staff were all very helpful. Everywhere was lovely and clean and we will definitely make a special journey to visit this inn again. I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. | We had dinner there on August 13th. This is not standard pub food. The cook knows his business. His ingredients are locally sourced and cooked with real flair, without pointless elaboration. The result, for us, was a revelation : scallops, lamb, and a mixed grill simply cooked to preserve their tenderness and flavour, and mixed vegetables that were a highlight in themslves, all beautifully presented. Creme brulee with fresh raspberries made a perfect end to the meal.
