| I went to the Ship Inn a few weeks back and was amazed. It's like a smaller better version of a harvester. We ordered from the two for £10 menu and were blown away, out come my steak & ale pie along with chips and peas covering a steak plate that was huge. I've never tasted a pie so good in my life. We go every week so I can get my pie fix. My partner has tried the chicken burger, steak, combo pie, surf & turf and the gammon. I always get my fork in and have a try and never once have we been disappointed. | I went to the Ship Inn at lunchtime today, 9 November 2008 and was not happy with the service I received when I questioned my bill as I had been given the food I requested but with extras which I ate but hadn't realised they had changed my order for a more expensive version of the same food, until I was presented with the bill! When I asked for a discount as I found it unfair to only find out at the time of paying the bill, I was refused, by the landlord. Disappointing as I would previously have recommended this pub, but not any more! The least I wanted was an apololgy (which I did get from the girl who took my payment but not from the landlord) and would have appreciated a reduction in the bill rather than to be told "no" and "I'm busy talking to someone".
