We went for a meal and a drink at theis pub last night. We went early 4.30pm to be sure that we would be out of the way of by 6pm. We knew they accepted well behaved children before 7pm. We took along our 16 month old little boy. While we were there, inbetween courses - our little boy liked to have a wander about- as children do, with an adult in tow of course. Each time my son left our table - the staff gave me rude and dirty looks. This made us feel very unwanted. Our son was not being noisy- or disturbing anyone, so I could not understand their rudeness. We spent £50 that evening and we were there about an hour. They made it quite clear that we were not welcome. It takes no manners at al to 'ask' someone to stop there child from leaving the table. I do beleie that they should re catagorise thier pub to 'no children' as they are clearly not welcome. We will not return and we will tell our friends and family about this place- who will tell their friends and family. Over many years we have been to this pub with friends and family to celebrate occasions - but are now made to feel unwelcome because we have a child. A very unhospitalble establishment - we were shocked at the staffs rudeness. We will not return ever gain. [Report for Removal] Rachel

Nice spaceous pub. Well decorated, spotless toilets. Fantastic decked area outside. Good menu and all the food we tried was of a high standard. If you just want to go for a drink, they are not geared up for that until the weather allows you to sit outside. On the downside, certainly at the weekend, you can have a long wait for a table, with no where to sit and wait. Bearing in mind the menu prices are comparable to restaurant prices, the pub lets itself down on the service side. When you're ready to order, you have to stand and wait your turn at the bar to place your order. Need drinks whilst you are eating, again, you'll need to visit the bar and let your food go cold. The only time you see a waiter/waitress is the arrival of your food. No one checks to see if everything is OK. Only at the end of your meal when the bill is presented are you asked. Needless to say, there is no need to leave a tip. To sum up, lovely pub, above average food, above average prices, poor attention by staff. But the pub is always busy so I guess this does not worry too many people. If you expect someone to wait on you whilst having your meal, then this is not the place for you, otherwise, recommended.[Report for Removal] Dave
