| I have visited the Jolly Farmer several times. A lovely, large, airey conservatory has been added recently. The meals are excellent offering a splendid and varied menu catering for all tastes. | My wife and i have been to the Jolly Farmer a couple of times recently and have found the pub to be among the best in the area. The food is good (cooked by Stefan, a passionate and very capable chef) and very reasonably priced and i can tell you that as an unbiased ale drinker i have found the beer there to be as good as anywhere else. | What a glowing review - hardly surprising as the reviewer's name appears above the pub door! Nothing quite like "bigging up" your own establishment. Friends friends of mine had an awful experience three Fridays ago. They are both ale drinkers, have been in the business, and they went there as it was herself's birthday. The Titanic they were offered smelled absolutely rank and had all sorts of detritus floating in it! The barmaid said that it was fine and supposed to look like that. When asked whether she was an ale drinker, she replied to the negative. The barmaid then asked the "chef" for a second opinion, who confirmed that it was supposed to look the way it did. It transpires that he, too, is not an ale drinker. It further emerges that the Titanic had been on for a week "and we're not allowed to change it until it's gone". Sorry - nul points! | The Jolly Farmer has been run with new owners since August 2007. There has been a lot of changes made to the pub and restaurant in this time all for the better. They have a great traditional home cooked food menu as well as all new wines. The cask ales on offer are Greene King IPA and Abbot ale all the time and a third pump is guest ales which change after ever barrel. It is said that they serve some of the finest ales in the area of Thanet. The gardens have also been developed and a covered, heated outdoor dining and smoking area is available along with great gardens which has plenty of seating.
