| regret very much choosing to eat there for my husbands' birthday a few weeks ago. Slop on a plate and rotten miserable staff is all I can say. There is nothing positive I can say about this place. Please don't eat there, the biggest disapointment and waste of time I have experienced in a long while. | We pre-booked for a roast dinner for 6. We were early. The food was late. the roast potatoes were like fried bullets and the carrots and peas were so overcooked they looked tinned, even though when we asked, we were assured they were not tinned veg. Awful. The staff seemed very unfriendly and wooden. I think perhaps they need some training or something, but theyare very miserable. The food is overpriced for what you get, you can tell there has been no effort put into the food or menu and I mean the food, not the huge stupid menu they have on offer, the menu looks like someone went nuts with a desktop publisher. We spent too much money on something that was awful because we made an effort to be there, and we all really shouldnt have bothered. | ate there last month. I have to say it was awful. The food was overcooked and dumped on the plate, and our subsequent complaint was met with utter distain. the staff are awful and one of them seems to have an alcohol problem. the food is overpriced. the veggies are overcooked, boiled to death in fact. disgusting. we had a table of 10 and it was an utter farce. | I like the Crown, the view over the river, and the atmosphere when they have live music in there, notably a local sixties/Beatles duo who are excellent.The food is mediocre and the prices OK, but people in my group were overcharged three times in ten minutes - so watch it when its busy! | Don't use this Pub. The Public Bar is the only bar that your dog can come in. The "staff" wasn't very happy either. You have to go outside, along, up and in when you could have walked two yards in and round. The seats were disgusted. The "food" was bad news (lots of margarine on our sandwiches).
