| 4 of us went to the Bear with high expectations on sat 28th april 07. Very dissapointed, no chateau briand, we weren't told this when seated so salivated uneccessarily for 20 mins before out order was taken, so opted for the steak, to be told they had run out of that. starters were fine, 3rd choce main were also alright, ordered the 1st bottle of wine arrived but was 2 years the wrong date advertised on list, waiter failed to understand significance of this, so having drunk the bottle for not wanting to cause too much of an issue, (we hadn't yet recieved out mains) we ordered a diffrent bottle of wine, guess what happned next, another incorrrect date on the menu...same reposne different waiter telling us that wine would taste exactly the same as the more mature bottle we thought we had ordered... not exactly the trappings of a AA rosette.... michelin knife and fork, more like dunlop we think![Report for Removal] | dean shenfield essex |
