| Terrible place!! Dropped into this by chance, food not bad at all, but the miserable landlord and charmless landlady put Victor Meldrew into the shade. No warmth, no welcome, no help (and the landlady needs to learn that jeans and dirty tshirt are not appropriate for a restausrant). | This is a great pub, not least because its now non smoking throughout! Food is always great and altho they only have Badger ales, they are always very well kept. Gyles, the landlord, is a law unto himself and will be Mr friendly happy one day, and Mr can't be bothered to speak to you the next!As long as you can cope with this, its actually quite entertaining! However, his wife Mo is lovely, always very friendly and the staff are generally very nice and helpful too. | I am a resident of Henfield and a regular at the White Hart. This is without doubt a fantastic pub with excellent service and one of the best menus I have ever experienced in an English pub. I am astounded at the negative comments as I have always been treated with the utmost respect by every member of staff, particularly the landlord who is both obliging and friendly. I strongly advise people to visit this beautiful and well run establishment to make up their own minds.what a joke,the landlord must have been very obliging,easy comments by a clearly loose lady!
