This was my first visit to this pub and i was most disappointed with the attitude of the landlord towards me. I am coeliac (gluten intolerance) and politely asked which dishes were gluten free, but was brusquely informed by the landlord that "we do not stick our neck out for allergies". I appreciate that it is not always easy to know on some dishes but this is no way to speak to customers. I would not choose to visit here again as I was made to feel most uncomfortable and as a second class citizen. I was with a group of people so could not easily walk out. The food I had was nothing special but the atitude of the landlord left the worst taste and spoiled a family occasion.[Report for Removal] Jacqueline Hatcher

I have enjoyed every meal in this lovely village pub. No bookings are accepted and Friday and especially Saturday can be busy. People tend to arrive earlier and earlier on a Saturday to get a table. The pub side is really non existant now as the food side is so busy. To just stand at the bar you feel as though you are in the way and also the staff can be different from one night to another. This is all a great pity because this pub serves some of the best beer in the area including superb real ales. For non real ale fans the Youngers Villager is excellent.
