| We went to this pub because we had heard good reviews. After been sold an orange squash for £1.60 and dismissed by the unhelpful staff as 'thats just the price of it!' It was not enough that the staff were unhelpful but the manager didn't seem to care what his customers thought by standing behind the bar and scowling when we attempted to make our point. We asked for a refund on the food because it was so terrible. Sandwiches containing the cheapest reformed ham you can find... and steak pies that tasted like it was made with cat food topped with soggy, thick pastry that you just wanted to spit out. We will not be visiting this pub again. Its a shame because if they just focused on customer service a little more and purchased better quality supplies it would be a great place to go, lovely setting.
