The Star is a jewel tucked away in the small thriving village of Petworth, West Sussex.Close to the magnificent Petworth house with its 700acres of stunning parkland and gardens, and within easy driving distance from Chichester, Bognor, Littlehampton and Midhurst. The Pub dates back to the 16th century, its history is documented and framed on the restaurant wall. The Star is a Fuller Smith and Turner house and serves a wide selection of Beers, Lagers, Wines by the glass or the bottle, and has a choice of four real ales throughout the year. One of which is changed with the seasons

Recently refurbished The Star has been taken over by Tim and Jackie Carter who have put together a team of welcoming friendly staff.We are confident our staff will make your visit a memorable one. The Star is family friendly, allowing children in to eat until 7pm.Dogs are welcome as long as they keep their owners under control. The Star opens at 9.30am serving breakfast until 11.30(11am Sunday) from March to October,group bookings and coaches are welcome by arrangement. There is limited parking directly outside on the square, but the free car park is literally two minutes walk from the pub.

Restaurant

For a more intimate dining experience book a table in our restaurant The Star boasts a menu where the majority of main course dishes are made inhouse from locally sourced fresh produce. Our menu includes some traditional pub favourites. For something a little more substantial you will find a varied selection on our blackboards.Food is served daily from 12-7pm, and from 12-3pm on Sunday. Evening Bookings are taken for parties of 10 or more.

The Star is the perfect stopping off point for Glorious Goodwood, Cowdray Park, The Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Elegant and dashing Goodwood Revival. Adjacent to Leconfield Hall,and a 5 minute walk from Petworth House, it is advisable to book a table in advance during Festival fortnight and concerts at the house.
