The Cat and Fiddle stands in the geographic centre of the Whaddon estate and, as you might expect, it also plays an important part at the centre of the community itself. And when Arkell's took over in the summer of 1999 they will have been relieved to hear that there were no plans for any changes to the building or to the staff. Indeed, only one thing has changed, and that is the introduction of Arkell's award winning beers - including the already popular Smooth. The atmosphere is always lively here, but on Saturday nights things warm up even more.
