| Most local people avoid this pub but I decided to give it another try. Not a friendly place, especially since the departure of the last landlord Frank who tried his absolute best to make it a better place. All the trouble makers are back. Have seen young drinkers buy their drinks from the off licence and then buy a coke from the bar and mix their own drinks in the car park! [Report for Removal] | chris gillam Hutton Essex |

| Now called the Woodpecker. Changed it's name from Maxwells as it had a reputation for trouble. I decided to give it a try as it is now under New Management. The service is average. The the punters are still menacing and unfriendly but there was no trouble on the 2 occassions I visited the pub. [Report for Removal] | Chris Hutton Essex |
