Welcome to The George from Mark, Nigel & Sue

The George Inn is an attractive 16th Century Inn ideally situated in the centre of Mere. The Inn is quite literally fit for a king as King Charles 11 dined here on route to Shoreham when fleeing from Oliver Cromwell on 6 October 1651. Set in the heart of the town, amidst stunning Wiltshire countryside and conveniently situated between London and Exeter, just off the A303, the Inn is a popular place to stop and break your journey.
